JOSHUA GROETSCH, MD

JOSHUA GROETSCH, MD

Joshua Groetsch, MD, a board-certified ophthalmologist, has been a lifelong resident of the Greater New Orleans area. He attended Loyola University in New Orleans graduating Summa Cum Laude with a degree in Psychology in 1996.  He subsequently received his medical degree from Louisiana State University School of Medicine in New Orleans in 2001.  Following an internal medicine internship with the Alton Ochsner Foundation, he completed his residency training in ophthalmology with the LSU / Ochsner program in 2006, where he served as Chief Resident.   

Dr. Groetsch entered private practice in 2006 and remains dedicated to providing the highest quality eye care to the community.  Additionally, he continues to provide training to future ophthalmologists with the LSU ophthalmology residency training program, where he has served as an associate clinical and surgical professor for the past 16 years.  His areas of focus include anterior segment, cataract, glaucoma, and refractive surgery. 

Dr. Groetsch continues to reside in the area with his wife and four children.  His outside interests include spending time with family and friends, running, hiking, and photography.

Dr. Aravinda Rao is a Louisiana native and attended medical School at Tulane University and completed her Ophthalmology residency and Vitreoretinal Fellowship at LSUHSC in New Orleans, LA. She is Board Certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology in 2010.

Dr. Rao has been in private practice in the Baton Rouge area and is also involved in educating of young ophthalmologists in training the LSUHSC Department of Ophthalmology for the past 11 years. She holds the rank of Clinical Associate Professor and is the Vitreoretinal Fellowship Director. She is very active in the American Society of Retina Specialist and is on the cutting edge of Vitreoretinal surgery  techniques and Advances in Medical Retina. She is excited to bring her experience and expertise to our practice.

MADISON WALL-HAYES, OD

MADISON WALL-HAYES, OD

Dr. Madison Wall-Hayes was born and raised in Southwest Louisiana, graduating high school from DeQuincy High School. She then attended Louisiana Tech University where she majored in Applied Biology, receiving her Bachelor of Science in 2011. While at La Tech, she was an active member of Phi Mu Fraternity, Union Board, Student Recruiters, and she was selected to be an Orientation Student Leader.

Dr. Hayes attended Southern College of Optometry in Memphis, TN. While at SCO, she was a member of the Private Practice Club, Contact Lens Society, and Student Optometric Services to Humanity (SVOSH), where she travelled to Colombia to provide eye care. Dr. Hayes was also a Student Ambassador, mentoring new/prospective students yearly. Dr. Hayes earned her Doctor of Optometry in 2016.

Dr. Hayes is an active member of the Optometry Association of Louisiana where she as served as the chair of the membership and mentoring committee.

Dr. Hayes specializes in primary eye care, the evaluation and management of ocular disease, and both routine and specialized contact lens fittings, including scleral, RGP, and hybrid lenses.

Dr. Hayes is married to Shawn Hayes, and they have one fur baby, Gryffin. In their spare time they enjoy going to local restaurants and pubs as well as taking Gryffin for long walks through Audubon Park and City Park.

BRETT BUDDEN, MD

BRETT BUDDEN, MD

Dr. Brett Budden is a board-certified ophthalmologist who specializes in the medical and surgical management of diseases affecting the vitreous and retina. He completed his Ophthalmology residency in 2016 at Louisiana State University and Oschner Clinic Foundation in New Orleans, where he served as Chief resident during his senior year of residency. Dr. Budden went on to complete a two-year fellowship at Tulane University Medical Center and the Veterans Affairs Medical Center focused on the medical and surgical management of diseases of the vitreous and retina.

Dr. Budden’s main interests are the diagnosis and management of diabetic retinopathy, macular degeneration, retinal tears and detachments as well as other pathology affecting the vitreous, macula, and retina.

Dr. Budden continues to work part-time at the Veterans Affairs Hospital where he assists in the clinical and surgical training of both LSU and Tulane Ophthalmology residents as well as continuing to care for the state’s veteran population.

Dr. Budden has been practicing in the greater New Orleans and Metairie areas since 2018.

Dr. Budden and his wife, Clare, live in Lakeview with their two daughters, Victoria and Eliza.

JEFF VINET, MD

Dr. Jeff Vinet is a board-certified comprehensive Ophthalmologist who specializes in the treatment of ocular disease and performing cataract and laser surgery. He was born and raised in New Orleans, having attended Brother Martin High School. He graduated Summa Cum Laude from LSU with a degree in Biological Sciences in 2011. He went on to receive his medical doctorate from LSU New Orleans School of Medicine in 2015. He completed his Ophthalmology residency training with LSU/Oschner in 2019.

Dr. Vinet has been in private practice in the Greater New Orleans area since 2019 with a special focus on performing cataract surgery. His outside interests include traveling, testing, gardening, guitar, film-making, hunting, and fishing.
